I’ll say the obvious thing up front: after the first look for 3 Monkeys, I am counting down to December 4, 2026. That is when Abbas-Mustan’s new thriller opens worldwide, and the promo makes one thing clear — this is the duo sliding back into the kind of glossy, twisty, mask-forward territory they do well.

The film stars Mustafa Burmawala as Akbar, Vishal Jethwa as Amar, Tenzin Dalha as Anthony, and Arjun Rampal as Sanjay. If the names feel like an old-school setup, that is intentional. The central idea borrows from the Three Wise Monkeys but gives the proverb a sharp contemporary spin: Sab Dekho. Apni Suno. Bekhauf Bolo.

What the first look promises

It promises mood more than plot. Dark frames, masks, three men who seem to be in over their heads, and an Arjun Rampal presence that suggests the authority figure may know more than he is saying. It is styled like a premium thriller, not a chaotic action piece, and that restraint works in its favour.

The big selling point is the attitude. Abbas-Mustan are not just repeating the old see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil idea. They are reversing it into a call to look, trust yourself, and speak without fear. That line is the kind of thing fans will quote while they wait for the full trailer.

What it holds back

The promo is careful. It introduces the characters, but not their motivations. We do not know if this is a heist, a revenge story, a con job, or something stranger. The makers are treating the premise as a mystery, and Abbas-Mustan said it plainly:

There is much more happening behind those masks, and that is the mystery we want audiences to discover in cinemas.

Mustafa Burmawala, returning after his debut in Machine, sounds aware of what this film means for him. He said the story has interesting twists and that working with Abbas-Mustan is special because they have made some of the most memorable thrillers. I like that energy. It does not overpromise; it leans on the directors’ track record.

The moment everyone will talk about

For me, it is that inverted line. The teaser opens with the familiar Three Wise Monkeys imagery, then hands us a new rule: Sab Dekho. Apni Suno. Bekhauf Bolo. That is the film saying it will play with the audience’s expectations. It is a small thing, but it is the kind of line that tells you the writers have a point of view.

Is it worth the ticket?

Honestly, yes — if you go to cinemas for a slick Hindi thriller with a strong visual identity. This first look does not reveal enough to promise a masterpiece, but it promises atmosphere, star presence, and an Abbas-Mustan twist engine. For now, that is enough. I am in for the first day.
