Salman Khan has moved into the toughest leg of Monster. The pan-India action drama is now shooting its final 50-day block at a Mira Road studio, with the schedule built almost entirely around close-quarter combat.
That is a deliberate change of rhythm. Monster has already captured the big-canvas material: principal photography began in Mumbai in mid-April 2026, and a six-week Goregaon schedule in August delivered large-scale action set-pieces, crowd sequences and an elaborate Afghan village set. Now the crew is turning inward, filming the kind of hand-to-hand fights that need time, repetition and physical preparation.
From glossy spectacle to raw combat
The team is moving away from slick, glossy effects. For the final stretch, the aim is a raw and grounded action experience, with Salman Khan at the centre of close-quarter combat against his opponents. That choice matters because it defines the film’s final personality: not just how big it looks, but how physical it feels.
September was spent on a focused 10-day combat training block in Mumbai. That preparation now feeds directly into the 50-day Mira Road schedule.
The road to November
- Mid-April 2026: principal photography begins in Mumbai.
- August 2026: a six-week Goregaon schedule with large-scale action, crowd sequences and an Afghan village set.
- September 2026: a 10-day combat training block in Mumbai.
- October-November 2026: the 50-day close-combat final schedule at Mira Road.
Salman Khan is balancing the action block with his Bigg Boss 20 commitments, and the film remains on track for a November wrap. From there, the team moves directly into post-production to meet the Eid 2027 theatrical release.
An Eid release raises the stakes. It is a prime theatrical window, and moving straight from the wrap into post-production gives the team a clear runway to shape the final cut.
Who is in the frame
Produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations, Monster stars Salman Khan alongside Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swamy, Rahul Dev, Ronit Roy and Seema Biswas. That mix of Bollywood and South Indian names backs up the pan-India positioning.
For our readers, the immediate watchpoint is simple: the next 50 days decide how Monster fights. A November wrap is the first checkpoint, then post-production begins and the countdown to Eid 2027 gets real.
