Party Animals: the trailer. Video: Netflix on YouTube.

I came out of the Party Animals trailer needing exactly two things: a ticket for November 20, and someone to explain the drunk horse to me. The new Yoodlee Films comedy, directed by Ravi Chhabriya and produced by Vikram Mehra and Siddharth Anand Kumar, stars Viraj Ghelani as Mann Patel and Arjun Tanwar as Armaan Khanna, with a stacked ensemble around them. It is not trying to be quiet about anything.

The setup is simple: a New Year’s Eve reunion that turns into one escalating string of bad decisions. What the trailer promises is a comedy built on momentum, friendship and the confidence that any terrible idea sounds better after midnight. It gives us cops, goons, a party bus, romantic complications, petty fights and that horse, but it does not show how the night actually ends. The smartest thing the trailer holds back is the emotional cost of all that chaos; the jokes are loud, but the film seems to want the friendship to carry the story.

The moment everyone will be quoting

For me, the drunk horse is the line the trailer dares you to cross. It is absurd enough to become the film’s calling card, and weird enough to tell me the makers are committed to the bit. One viewer reaction captures it better than I can:

“This looks like the group chat got a production budget.”

Where this sits

For Viraj Ghelani, this is a big-screen lead moment that uses his internet-native timing instead of sanding it down. For Arjun Tanwar, it is a chance to build a big, theatrical comic presence. For Yoodlee Films and Saregama, this is a swing at a Hollywood-style ensemble comedy in an Indian setting—familiar form, local chaos, young audience.

Viraj Ghelani says it best: “Party Animals is the kind of madness that’s hard to explain but a whole lot of fun to experience, especially with your gang of friends.” That is exactly the pitch.

Verdict

I’m in. Party Animals looks like the kind of film best watched with your gang, where the plot is less important than the energy. If you want a tightly plotted comedy, the trailer is not promising that. If you want a loud, chaotic, big-screen night out, it looks worth the ticket.
