I went into the First Booster expecting a quick festival-season mood setter. I came out with one lingering question: how on earth are George and Krish connected? That is exactly what a teaser should do, and it is why this one-minute glimpse of Sharwanand’s next Telugu film has me leaning forward.
For the uninitiated, George Krish is director Srinu Vaitla’s upcoming family entertainer. It pairs him with Sharwanand for the first time, with Manasa Varanasi as the female lead. Ramabrahmam Sunkara produces it under the AK Entertainments banner, with ATV presenting and Ajay Sunkara co-producing. The film is currently being shot in Hyderabad and is set for a worldwide theatrical release on January 14, 2027, during the Sankranthi festival. Anup Rubens handles the music, KV Guhan is the cinematographer, Avinash Kolla is the production designer, Amar Reddy Kudumula edits, and Nandu Savarigana and Gopi Mohan have written the film.
What the First Booster promises
The teaser is clearer about tone than plot. Sharwanand appears as George, a Christian character, and Krish, a Hindu character, and the film leans into the contrast with two different looks, two different kinds of devotion, and two very different comic energies. The makers are selling this as a fun-filled family entertainer, and the teaser honours that promise: it feels bright, playful, and festive rather than preachy or gimmicky.
What it holds back is the actual scaffold. We do not learn whether George and Krish are twins, relatives, or something stranger. We do not see how Manasa Varanasi’s character enters the story, nor how the film turns this two-avatar premise into a full plot. For a Sankranthi release, that restraint is smart. The teaser gives you the star, the mood, and the hook, leaving the narrative reason to buy a ticket intact.
The moment everyone will talk about
The split between George and Krish is the image I keep returning to. It is not just that Sharwanand is playing two religiously distinct characters. It is how easily he flips between two postures of faith and comedy. That contrast is the film’s central tension, and it is the kind of visual mismatch Srinu Vaitla has historically used well to build laughs without losing family warmth.
Where this sits
For Sharwanand, George Krish looks like a confident move back toward the big family entertainer space after the motocross-heavy Biker. For Srinu Vaitla, it looks like a chance to reclaim a sweet spot built on comic misunderstanding and crowd-pleasing sentiment. The title poster had already teased romance; the First Booster now turns the film into a double-role question mark.
The honest verdict
I am not ready to declare it a blockbuster from sixty seconds, and you should not ask me to. But George Krish already looks like the kind of festive entertainer that plays to Sharwanand’s charm and Vaitla’s strengths. If the script can pay off the George-Krish link, this could be a very satisfying Sankranthi watch. Right now, I want more. That is the right response to a teaser.
