The final stretch of the Ramayana campaign has a new centre of gravity: Sita. With the first part scheduled to open worldwide on November 5, 2026, the team led by Nitesh Tiwari has released a dedicated character promo for Sai Pallavi, placing her reading of the princess of Mithila at the heart of the marketing.
A values-first introduction, not a dialogue-heavy teaser
The latest video cuts between Sita’s royal world in Mithila and imagery that connects her to the Earth and to Lord Rama. The on-screen wording is simple: Daughter of the Earth and Bound by Love. The makers reinforced the same idea in the social caption:
Daughter of the Earth, princess of Mithila. Bound by love, guided by Dharma. Sai Pallavi as Sita.
Rather than leaning on spectacle, the promo foregrounds devotion, love and Dharma. That is a deliberate choice: it tells audiences this Ramayana intends to sell the emotional and moral core of the story, not just its size.
Why this reading of Sita matters
The epic is among the most recognisable stories in Indian culture, but every adaptation has to decide which version of its characters it is presenting. By linking Sita so strongly to the Earth, the promo is presenting her as grounded and central to the telling, not a figure who is merely swept along by events.
For Sai Pallavi, who has built a following across Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam cinema, this is a genuinely pan-Indian moment. The film will reach audiences in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, so this character introduction has to work across languages and cultural contexts.
The scale around the centre
- Rama: Ranbir Kapoor
- Sita: Sai Pallavi
- Ravana: Yash
- Hanuman: Sunny Deol
- Lakshman: Ravie Dubey
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is backed by Prime Focus Studios with DNEG and Monster Mind Creations. Part one arrives in cinemas on November 5, 2026; part two is planned for Diwali 2027. The release spans five languages and premium formats including IMAX. Sony Pictures handles international distribution outside India, while Dharma Productions manages the Hindi-speaking market.
What to do before the opening weekend
If you are deciding whether to book, watch the promo for tone rather than plot. It signals a devotional, values-led adaptation, and that may be exactly the cinematic experience you want on a big screen, or something you would rather judge after reviews.
For the full scale, IMAX remains the natural choice if it is available near you. The film is being positioned as an event, and the Sita promo suggests the makers are as interested in emotional weight as in visual sweep.
