The two-part Ramayana is building its world one image at a time. After a special promotional event attended by global internet personality MrBeast, the makers have unveiled a new official poster focused on Yash as Ravana.

This is the second major look at the character, following a trailer that released a couple of months ago. Where the trailer offered a flash of Ravana, the poster stays close on the face and the royal detailing, signalling that the campaign is moving from scale to character.

The new poster: crown, pearls and intent

In the image, Yash wears a heavily embellished golden crown studded with gemstones, layered pearl necklaces and gold bracelets. His expression is intense, and the framing makes Ravana feel like a centrepiece rather than a shadowy antagonist.

That is a meaningful choice for a mythological epic. Ramayana is a story most of the audience already knows, so the film’s job is not only to tell the plot but to make the characters feel newly designed, specific and cinematic. This poster does some of that work.

Why this reveal matters

The release plan is spread across two festive windows, and the scale of the rollout is clear:

  • Ramayana: Part 1 – Diwali 2026, worldwide IMAX release
  • Ramayana: Part 2 – Diwali 2027
  • Languages in India: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam

The MrBeast event suggests the producers are also thinking beyond the traditional Bollywood marketing playbook. Bringing in an internet-first creator gives the film a bridge to younger, global audiences who may not automatically turn up for a classic epic.

The cast to watch

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.

It is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Having Yash’s production banner involved adds another layer of ownership to a film that needs to work across multiple industries.

What to do about it

If the earlier trailer put Ramayana on your watchlist, this poster is a reason to plan around the Diwali 2026 window. Keep an IMAX show in mind if you want the full spectacle, and treat Part 1 as the start of a two-year conversation that concludes with Part 2 in Diwali 2027.

No further visuals or ticket details have been announced yet; for now, the poster is the next marker in a long, carefully spaced campaign.
