This week’s streamer calendar is busier than the headline suggests. Depending on how you count, the slate is either a packed nine or a full ten: the roundup includes two JioHotstar additions, several Indian originals and a few returning international favourites. The drops land between October 21 and October 23, so there is something to queue on almost every night.

The big-ticket originals

Nani leads the week with The Paradise on Netflix on October 22. It is a Telugu period action drama set in Hyderabad in the 1980s. Nani plays Jadal, a man from a marginalised nomadic community who walks out of prison after 14 years and finds a landlord, played by Raghav Juyal, terrorising his people. The film becomes a fight for family, dignity and citizenship.

Manoj Bajpayee returns on the same platform on October 23 with Gajab Raat. He plays Ajay Dixit, a corrupt Delhi Police officer whose case opens with an injured woman being abandoned from a moving car. The investigation pulls him into a larger murder conspiracy.

For something gentler, Dorothy is Karthik Subbaraj’s Tamil drama on Netflix on October 23, set in rural Tamil Nadu in the 1990s. It uses a childhood friendship to examine caste, violence and the pressure to perform a certain kind of masculinity. Keerthy Suresh, Sananth and Rishikanth lead the cast.

All the arrivals, in one place

  • The Paradise — Netflix, October 22: Nani’s Telugu period action drama set in 1980s Hyderabad.
  • Nobody Wants This Season 3 — Netflix: the new season is part of the week’s additions, with no further plot detail in the roundup.
  • Chaar Yaar — Prime Video, October 23: a Hindi crime drama about four friends stealing luxury cars in early-2000s Mumbai.
  • Gajab Raat — Netflix, October 23: a corrupt cop, an abandoned victim and a murder conspiracy.
  • Dorothy — Netflix, October 23: Karthik Subbaraj’s Tamil friendship drama set in 1990s rural Tamil Nadu.
  • Lupin Part 4 — Netflix, October 23: Omar Sy’s Assane Diop is framed by a copycat thief while serving time.
  • The Legend of Hanuman Season 7 — JioHotstar, October 23: the battle for Lanka reaches its decisive stage.
  • Sumo Didi — ZEE5, October 23: the story of Hetal Dave, India’s first female professional sumo wrestler.
  • The Terminal List Season 2 — Prime Video, October 21: Chris Pratt’s James Reece takes a CIA mission for a presidential pardon, with all eight episodes available.
  • Varam — JioHotstar, October 22: a Telugu thriller web series directed by Aditya Mandala and produced by Sushmita Konidela.

How to plan the watchlist

The date split matters. Prime Video’s The Terminal List Season 2 arrived on October 21, and JioHotstar’s Varam landed on October 22. Most of the big Indian and international titles follow on October 23, which means the midweek is front-loaded with choices and the weekend is open for catch-up.

If you are choosing by mood, start with The Paradise for scale, Gajab Raat for a dark urban conspiracy or Chaar Yaar for a Mumbai underworld throwback. Lupin Part 4 starts four years after the previous season, with Assane Diop in prison and framed for a string of museum robberies — that is built for a binge, not a single episode.
