The second song from Jithu Madhavan's Scene pairs Suriya and Nazriya in an energetic romantic track ahead of its Diwali release.

I’ll say it: after “Aathi Iva Yarraa” landed earlier in October, I thought Scene would be all swagger and set-pieces. The second song, “Aeroplane”, changes that just enough. It’s an energetic romantic track that puts Suriya and Nazriya Nazim in the spotlight, and it makes the film’s Diwali pitch feel warmer, not just louder.

For anyone catching up: Scene is Jithu Madhavan’s third film after Romancham and Aavesham. Suriya plays Imbaraj IPS, and Nazriya plays Maya. The cast also includes Naslen, Anandraj, Lal and Raj Priyan. Sushin Shyam composes, Rajpriyan writes the lyrics, and Gaana Bala sings “Aeroplane”. The film releases worldwide on November 6, 2026, for Diwali.

The song promises a proper romantic hook. At two minutes and thirty-one seconds, it is less about plot and more about devotion: Suriya’s character says he will stay by Maya’s side no matter where life takes him. The lyrics lean into playful obsession — he compares himself to an aeroplane circling around, an Asian koel singing because of her, and a watermelon turning red because he blushes around her. That is the kind of goofy, confident writing that can make a mass hero feel human.

What it holds back is the film’s actual story. The lyric video offers glimpses of the two leads sharing moments, but it never tips the action-comedy’s hand. We still do not know how the romance fits Imbaraj IPS, what the mission is, or how Jithu Madhavan will balance humour, action and sentiment. That restraint is smart — the song is a mood-setter, not a plot dump.

The one moment everyone will quote is the watermelon line. It is silly on paper, but it is exactly the kind of image that sticks after one listen, and it gives fans a meme-ready way to talk about Suriya’s romantic side.

For Suriya, Scene arrives after back-to-back wins with Karuppu and Vishwanath And Sons. For Jithu Madhavan, it is a chance to show he can move from cult hits into a star vehicle without losing the oddball details. The technical team — cinematographer Vineeth Augustian, editor Ajmal Sabu, production designer Ashwini Kale and action director Chethan D’Souza — suggests the film will look polished.

My honest verdict: “Aeroplane” makes the film look charming and confident. It does not fully prove the action-comedy balance, but if you already trust Jithu Madhavan’s tone and want Suriya in a lighter space, this song is enough to keep the Diwali ticket on the list.
