Jailer 2 has carried its momentum into a third week. The Rajinikanth-led sequel directed by Nelson Dilipkumar crossed ₹511 crore in India gross on Day 17, according to live estimates from Sacnilk cited by The Times of India.
After two strong weeks, the film is still pulling audiences in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi — and it now has a bigger prize in sight.
Where the numbers landed on Day 17
By the time the live report was filed on Saturday, Jailer 2 had added ₹1.78 crore net across India from 3,303 tracked shows. The Tamil version remained the engine, collecting ₹1.33 crore from 1,710 shows. The Hindi version added ₹23 lakh through 1,238 shows, while Telugu contributed ₹22 lakh from 355 shows.
These are early estimates, not the final Saturday number. Evening and night shows should push the figure higher.
The totals that matter
- India gross: ₹511.55 crore
- India net: ₹437.18 crore
- Worldwide gross: ₹776.95 crore, including ₹267.50 crore from overseas
The gap between gross and net is normal in box office reporting: gross is the total ticket money before taxes and trade adjustments, while net is what remains after those deductions.
Worldwide, Jailer 2 is now roughly ₹23 crore shy of the ₹800 crore gross milestone. That is the number the trade will be watching through the weekend.
Why a strong third week stands out
Most big releases fall sharply after their opening weekend. Jailer 2 is behaving differently. It collected ₹334.35 crore net in week one and ₹95.55 crore net in week two, and it is still holding screens in three languages.
The Tamil version may be the biggest draw, but the Hindi and Telugu shows are not just decorative — together they added ₹45 lakh on Day 17 at the time of reporting. That kind of spread is what separates a local blockbuster from a pan-Indian one.
What happens next
With Saturday’s final figures still to come and Sunday to follow, a weekend hike could take the worldwide total past ₹800 crore. The film’s cast — including Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Hrithik Roshan, Ramya Krishnan, Vidya Balan, Jackie Shroff, Mithun Chakraborty, S. J. Suryah and Yogi Babu — gives it enough regional weight to keep the run alive.
For movie lovers, the simpler takeaway is that the theatrical run is not over. If you still want the big-screen experience, the film is still there, still filling seats.
