Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has pushed past the Rs 417 crore mark in India net collections on its 14th day in cinemas, even as weekday collections settle into a slower rhythm after a big opening week. The Nelson Dilipkumar sequel is also closing in on Rs 490 crore in domestic gross, with the final Wednesday figure still to be locked.
Day 14: the live picture
Early tracked numbers from Sacnilk show a live Day 14 net addition of Rs 1.63 crore, which takes the India net total to Rs 417.28 crore. Domestic gross stands at approximately Rs 487.83 crore. The film had opened at Rs 59.70 crore and collected Rs 334.35 crore net in its first week, so the current task is less about opening power and more about holding on.
The language split
Tamil remains the biggest driver of the daily total. On Day 14, the Tamil version added around Rs 0.89 crore from 1,827 tracked shows. Telugu contributed Rs 0.53 crore from 779 shows, and Hindi brought in Rs 0.21 crore from 1,340 shows. That puts the film across 3,946 tracked shows for the day.
Here is the recent day-wise India net run from the available data:
- Day 8: Rs 17.15 crore
- Day 9: Rs 14.50 crore
- Day 10: Rs 24.15 crore
- Day 11: Rs 25.70 crore
- Day 12: Rs 9.45 crore
- Day 13: Rs 7.50 crore
- Day 14 (live): Rs 1.63 crore
These are early estimates and could shift once more shows are reported.
What to read from the slowdown
The weekend spikes on Day 10 and Day 11 show the film still gets a lift when audiences have time off, but the mid-week figures suggest the bulk of the initial demand has been met. For regular viewers, that means weekday shows are a less crowded window to catch the film, and the Tamil version continues to offer the strongest theatre density. The final Day 14 tally is really the first piece of a larger third-week question: can Jailer 2 hold enough screens to make the next weekend count?
The Rs 1,000 crore chase
The wider box-office story is the worldwide number. With global gross earlier reported at Rs 744 crore, the fan conversation now turns to whether Jailer 2 can move closer to the Rs 1,000 crore milestone. The ensemble features Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Vidya Balan, Jackie Shroff, Mithun Chakraborty, S. J. Suryah and Yogi Babu, with music by Anirudh Ravichander. Third-week holds, and how the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi runs behave over the next few days, will decide how far the total can stretch.
